The Falls

Just read these lines from "The Falls" and thought of posting them:

Ariah to Royall -after Royall called off his marriage with Candace:
"A girl that pretty, you've let go. A girl with such pure, uncomplicated heart, and so --sweet"

"Christ sake , Mom! If I wanted a 'sweet' wife I'd marry a chocolate bunny. I'd go to bed with fucking Fannie Farmer!
I want a wife I can talk to, for Christ's sake. Talk to, and laugh with. A wife who's smarter than I am, not dumber. A wife for when I'm older, and ready. A wife who doesn't want me to get a 'real' job at a fucking chemical plant and destroy my fucking brain cells, what few I have. A wife who's -----talented . At some thing I'm not"

My parents arranged a meeting with a prospective guy this weekend.
I asked him what kind of girl he wanted ---
"A sweet simple understanding pretty and sensible girl"
--thats it!! Does her education n background dont matter??
"ahh yes.. she should be educated.. She should be able to teach my children well!!"

GRRRRRRRR!!!!!
All this from a Guy who was a DCE topper!

I guess I have to force myself to accept that my expectations could only be met through these bookish characters!! Real life people dont seem to have good brains!!

as they say "marriages are made in heaven, so are thunder and lightening"....a good thing is accompanied by sm bad things, so just wait till these bad experiences disappear and your "Mr Perfect" comes in a black horse and takes your away :)

Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony

Lemme tell you what I believe Girl Friend!! "Serendipity isn't"

Running after expectation is core human nature! Temptations takes the man or woman out of yourself. Unfortunately "Lucky" is a rare occurrence.

Marry a commoner .. an year down the line you'd be convincing everyone that he is perfect .. 2 years down the line you'd be convincing yourself that he is perfect .. 5 years down the line you'd be asking yourself "is he really perfect?"!!

Oh and did I mention this .. be it anyone you marry .. at the end of the day he'd be a commoner ..

I repeat "Serendipity isn't"

May you find Love! .. or may Love find you! ..

"Real life people dont seem to have good brains!!"
a little advice! Please stop being judgmental!

Fate has very weird sense of humor
but hope makes us alive
and thats what I want to do.
Be alive and Live!!

Do you say the same thing about your parents- they are commoners for each other!!commoners for us!! I doubt coz when we see our parents - we do feel they are special for each other!! Special for us even though we not perfects!!

Duh!!Who is being judgmental- judgmental about life- judgmental about love!Thank you for your advice but its you who needs your advices more than me!!

"The composition of a tragedy requires testicles" Dunno who said it. But they were quite right. I crib a lot don't I.

Uhmm .. I have been thinking for quite a while now.. should I reply to this anymore or shouldn't I.

I guess now that I have been termed a "Whatever" it hardly matters if we go on with the war of words. Especially when I know I can never win over. hmmff!! What a lohoser I am.

But I had to reply this .. I have to satisfy my ego .. I too have one .. don't I HOMER?? Attitude!!

Get this right my ladyship! - I NEVER EFFECT YOU!! .. oh but you don't try much!!

"hope makes us alive
and thats what I want to do.
Be alive and Live!!"

Now that I know how you live and feel alive .. its great!! it makes sense!! Extreme Ways!!
Hope!!! lolz can't believe you used this word!!

Judgemental! .. Yes I am! .. trying hard not to be one! But I can't help strangling into expectations.

Lemme remind you a little something about you: Confusions Cornucopia - "..I know how much more I am capable of doing.. .. .. .. I didnt try much.."
Capability! I am glad I couldn't see so much into you! I am afraid if I had, I would have seen through you and past you! I know you wudn't understand what I say .. don't bother asking me if you don't wanna know!!

I poke and you slap! .. I stroke and you payback! .. This is how down and low we are now!

You might see more of me here! .. But you have a choice! Don't wanna see me here , say so! Or delete my comments the way you deleted me from all your IMs and orkut and everywhere. I won't bug you anymore.

BTW! I am a big fan of Homer! So much that I have started wearing Button Badges of Homer Simpson! Today's Badge says "OH cruel fate! Why do you mock me!!!!" [:P].. Homer Simpson that is!!

Thanks for your comments..everyone has a right to give his honest opinion here, even if it comes from a mind incapable of seeing through the very obvious, let alone seeing through me!

Every word of your lonnng comment goes on to prove that you're too preoccupied with your own self so please remain n rant in your safe haven..

And as for the growing number of your comments, all i'm able to conclude is that you're trying to show your presence and evoke a response probably, but it won't help, really. I know it was clear already, but just thought i'd make it even more clear, coz you're such a dim-wit!

Alien I said...

Thanks for I have evolved from a "Whatever" to a "Ranting Dimwit"

Alien I said...

Like I said this is how down and low we are now!!!

Come to think of it, my incapable-to-see-through-the-very-obvious mind could never understand the "Why" of it!!
Perhaps because I am not willing to get out of my safe heaven.

So! .. Why?!!!

Oh!! But the orthodoxian values make you weak and incapable of hurting by explaining the "Why"!

In a nutshell! Why do I ever try when I know one of these days I will be banned from commenting here as well??! .. Fortunately or your hard luck! I have tried to be the very first to go thru your blogs! .. In fact I being the 1st one to comment your 2nd blog page "XD-userdefinition"!! You see I am trying to provoke a response! Beg for Mercy! Pa-ha-leese pardon me!!

There will be more! .. Till then "Be alive and live"

Hehe I am not countering your point. Just an observation:

Royall's 'famous last words' in this post of yours:

A wife who's -----talented . At some thing I'm not

So DCE topper does not care about 'education' of his wife, cos he is himself 'talented' at that.

But since you asked, he added education as an afterthought,

"ahh yes.. she should be educated.. She should be able to teach my children well!!"

Maybe cos he can't teach.

Pappu 'muggu' mein ace hai,
Wife ki man mein image hai,
But Pappu can't teach saala!

By the way, why are you being overaggressive in judging the 'poor fellow'. OK I don't know the 'poor fellow'. Maybe he is a total MCP. But based on simply what you have written on the post, I don't really find anything wrong with him.

His criteria is:

Sweet - nature, heart

Simple - disposition. Not some freaky party animal, hungry for all sorts of things his money can be wasted on.

Understanding - emotions and caring are lot more important to being human and a loving member of a happy family. Lot more important than some education degree.

Sensible - who wants a senseless person (even as a friend) even if the person has a double PhD?

Why are you so obsessed about your 'education' as a 'criteria' for marriage? A 'sensible' guy looking for a soulmate would be more interested in your human qualities. How do you expect something formal like 'education' to be on his mind? It isn't like the guy's a lazy bum who is looking for an 'educated salary-account' in form of a wife, so that he can cool his butt on the sofa and watch ESPN whole day. And in case a guy is on such a lookout, I am sure you would reject him ;).

And just like Fannie Farmer, a guy looking for something with great storehouse of information in the brain should go marry a google server.

Of course as an educated person you will want to acheive your own dreams too, and if he has some issue with it, you got all the right to dump and cuss him.

But I think you are stressing too much on some stupid 'education' in a matter of human relationships and love.

Suppose you were born and brought up in a village with no education, would you be like the scum of the universe with whom no decent guy can fall in love with and marry?

Stupidosaur said...

And 'understanding' and 'sensible' are also matters of the mind* , and infact more intrinsic and 'yourself' rather than an externally imposed 'education'.

I think the guy is right when looking for these qualities first.
And would you not be flattered if he thinks that you have these qualities and are the one for him?

*(unlike pretty face and body, which I agree with you are quite superficial and 'plastic')

i think the boy preffered love from his soulmate than education and background...

Thanks for visiting and posting out your thoughts on this topic..

I agree that at the end of the day - a guy actually wants a sweet(actually eager to please him every sec) , simple(doesnt has much hobbies except watching TV) -- ok .. I'll stop I know I am exzacerrating now..
But when a person is going for an arranged marriage - I dont think this is the right creteria you should search for..
a sweet simple, sensible girl..

Actually , when i hear that a guy justs wants these qualities in a girl - i mean why does he then classify in the advertisements - wanted professionally qualified girl.. you could as well go look out for a sweet Fannie farmer..

Its not the formal education that i would want to lay stress but the things that an educated mind is capable of.. how much more compatible you could be with an educated mind..

and all he wants is she should be able to teach my children well..
its not that he is wrong here but it just shows his narrow vision..

@himanshu
Thanks for your comments.. Keep visiting..
the guy is going for an arranged marriage.. I agree that he should first look out for qualities that would make him fall in love.. but what irks me is he would be able to love any simple, sweet girl..
and every girl that i know is sweet and simple..

The world is like that..
it's not so good.

but yeah.. you will get the one soon who meets your expectations..
Not so far is that day

Consider this from the guy's point of view: Maybe this is what his parents taught him to say.
